Karen Day grew up in a small town in northern Indiana. She studied journalism in college and after graduating, she moved to the East Coast where she wrote for newspapers and magazines. In this line of work she traveled and met lots of interesting people, but she wanted to write fiction. After dozens of revisions and several rejections, Karen's first book, Tall Tales, was published by Wendy Lamb (Random House), followed by No Cream Puffs and A Million Miles from Boston. Every day she wakes up at 5:30 and starts writing in an old closet on the third floor of her house just outside of Boston, where she lives with her husband and three children.
